Analysis of Journalists websites:

I chose these two websites because they’re completely different, the first is from Patrick Kelleher, a freelance journalist who specialises in writing about LGBT+ issues, and the second is from Juno Dawson, who is a fiction writer as well as a columnist for various different magazines.

Patrick includes in his website, two different ways of contact (a form and an email address), examples of his best work, carefully categorised, an about page with information about him, and a ‘hire me’ section which acts as a sort of cover letter.

Juno’s website only has three different sections: about, photos, and contact. The about section gives details about her, then she has a selection of portrait shots for the media to use, and the contact page with four different ways of contact. She doesn’t give any examples of her work, but does link her social media where her work is usually shared.

These two examples show that the most important thing for a journalist to include on their website is contact information, followed by ‘about’ information, and then examples of work. This is the best way to showcase a person’s skillset.
